Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital constructed a new regional ambulatory cancer treatment center in Bergen County, New Jersey through reconstruction of an existing corporate office headquartered in Montvale, NJ. The facility will provide diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients. The utilization of the building will be diverse, with uses including imaging and diagnostic equipment, treatment, examination, chemical infusion, radiation treatment and administrative office space.
The project involves the conversion of approximately 145,000sf of office space on a 17-acre site. With the construction of an addition for three (3) linear accelerators, a gross total of approximately 150,000sf of building is involved. The building consists of two floors, constructed in a “Y” configuration with two wings. The design used one of the first floor wings for Radiation Oncology and Radiology programs, with the remainder of the floor used for patient intake and counseling, phlebotomy, lab and quick-test, lymphedema, conference/education center and related public functions. The existing greenhouse area will be removed and reconstructed for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite. The second floor will include infusion, pharmacy, clinics and offices, the consultative suite, administration and related functions. The basement will be used for mechanical, electrical and IT technology equipment.
