Huntington Hospital

New Emergency Department - LEED Gold Certification

Huntington, NY

Lizardos designed MEP systems for a $50 million, 24,000sf expansion to the Emergency Department including construction of a new, two-story addition to the five-story, 405,517sf hospital.  The design/construction effort was performed in two phases. The first phase relocated existing utility lines allowing the new building construction, and the second phase designed the new Emergency Department. This time-saving approach allowed the construction team to start with the required site relocations as the design on the ED was being completed. The design was in conformance with FGI Guidelines and ASHRAE Standard 170.
